Though you may not know, yet, what a Hummock is, know they are beautiful and interesting parts of the Mount St Helens landscape. The Hummocks of Mount St Helens were formed during the 1980 eruption. This unique environment supports aquatic life and diverse plant communities that were able to reestablish rather quickly after the eruption. Join me for a for this photographic exploration of the Hummocks, culminating in a sunset bathing Mount St Helens in warm red light.
